The Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC) presented the Green Building Product of the Year Award to DIRTT Environmental Solutions at a recent gala dinner in Vancouver.
DIRTT’s Enzo line of prefabricated modular building interiors was recognized for its inventiveness and application, specifically in healthcare facilities.
The company developed the line to meet design challenges of such buildings, which often face space adaptation issues, such as infection control requirements, acoustical concerns associated with privacy, limited budgets and other factors.
A six-member jury assessed product submissions based on four key areas: sustainability, transparency and verification, innovation, and application.
“They have taken a truly holistic approach to sustainable design and development with their product,” said Thomas Mueller, president and chief executive officer of CaGBC. “DIRTT has been able to provide a product that meets the needs of the market and provides documented third party environmental declarations, which shows leadership and an understanding of the future of green design.”
