RFQ issued for new Vancouver Art Gallery

Monday, September 23, 2013

The Vancouver Art Gallery has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) in its search for a design architect for its new building.

The new gallery, a purpose-built art museum approximating 300,000 square feet, will be constructed on a new site in the city.

The Vancouver Art Gallery wants the design to influence the artistic landscape of Vancouver, and reflect the reputation that the city holds as a vibrant, creative, healthy and desirable place to live, work and visit.

Responses are invited from all interested architects (local, national and international) who meet the qualifications outlined in the RFQ. The deadline for submissions is Oct. 4, following which a shortlist will be compiled. The winning firms will then be invited to submit specific plans.
